In 2022, CATSINaM held a historic conference at The University of Adelaide which saw the 3 universities of South Australia as well as TAFE coming together for the first time to discuss racism in health sector. The conference spanned 2 productive days full of key-notes, discussions and planning. In 2022 the University of Adelaide on behalf of the Aboriginal Kidney Care's "Together Improving Outcomes Now" research project, held a 2 day conference for South Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander nurses, midwives, nursing students and non-Indigenous allies. The goal was to come together to discuss recruitment and retention strategies for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander nurses, midwives, workers and student. Topics of strengths, resilience and cultural safety in tertiary education and health care settings were covered and Black Cactus provided media coverage of the conference, covering the discussions and progress of the conference as well as creating a promotional video of the event.
